Primary Job Functions
This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex AWS solutions and ensuring that all assigned projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with account management and project management teams to gather project requirements and ensure project goals align with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
- Own the execution of project plans, timelines, and budgets and assist the project management team with client communications and the leadership of internal and external assigned resources.
- Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
- Ensure projects are implemented, tested, and documented in ways that reduce the ongoing support of the solution.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
- Deliver project status updates to assigned internal and external resources.
- Develop and maintain project documentation and identify opportunities for process improvements that may impact future project outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to achieve the key results and duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in systems, cloud and/or network engineering and administration.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT project implementation and management.
- In-depth knowledge of various AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Workspaces, and others.
- Knowledge of AWS security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, compliance standards, and familiarity with AWS security.
- Experience in the implementation of AWS Backup and other integrated 3rd party backup and restoration services.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting for automating tasks, managing infrastructure as code, and leveraging AWS SDKs and APIs for automation.
- Experience with IaC tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK is important for defining and provisioning AWS infrastructure in a repeatable and automated manner.
- Understanding of monitoring and logging tools like Amazon CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS
- Familiarity with AWS database services like Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, and others is important for designing and managing scalable and high-performance database solutions on AWS.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
